As a Electrical Engineer Manager, you will lead a team of programming and software engineers, electrical engineers, and electrical technicians to design, develop, and implement innovative solutions for packaging machinery and automation. Lead technical expertise in research & development, design, new technology, programming, hardware, testing and troubleshooting of packaging equipment. Oversee the entire engineering lifecycle, from concept to testing, installation, and maintenance. You will also collaborate with other managers, customers, and vendors to ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of our products. Provide strong leadership skills, great communication skills, and high motivation to team and cross functional teams.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor a team of programming, software engineers, electrical engineers, and electrical customer service technicians, providing technical guidance, feedback, and performance evaluation.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute oversight of engineering projects, ensuring that they meet the specifications, budget, and timeline.
- Provide and/or delegates services relating to the successful installation, startup & commissioning of equipment.
- Design, develop, and test electrical systems, components, and software for packaging machinery and automation, using various tools and technologies.
- Identify, communicate and build business needs strategies with EE dept.
- Team responsibility for electrical, software, or hardware issues, ensuring the safety and functionality of our products.
- Responsible for the design and layout of packaging equipment, electrical components, new hardware, software standards aligning with company strategies.
- Prepare and review engineering documentation, such as schematics, diagrams, manuals, and reports.
- Maintain electrical documentation formalities in required locations.
- Create and implement electrical component control programs to provide for the proper function of PLC, HMI, motion and message display.
- Work closely with Service/Production Manager with coordination of assembly operations.
- Communicate electrical design intent to other departments, ensuring that their requirements are fulfilled in the electrical design.
- Research and evaluate new technologies, methods, and best practices to improve the efficiency and quality of our engineering processes and products.
- Communicate and collaborate with other managers, customers, and vendors, to ensure the alignment of expectations, requirements, and deliverables.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, programming, or software engineering, preferably in the packaging machinery or automation industry.
- Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team of engineers and technicians.
- Strong knowledge and skills in electrical systems, components, and software, such as PLCs, HMI, servo drives, sensors, motors, controllers, etc.
- Proficient in various programming languages, such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
- Experience in using various engineering tools and software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MATLAB, etc.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to handle complex and challenging engineering issues.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, customers, and vendors.
- Attention to detail, quality, and safety, with the ability to adhere to engineering standards and regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of engineers.
- Highly analytical, creative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and innovatively.
- Proficient in engineering software, such as CAD, CAM, and PLC’s.
