Electrical Engineer Project Coordinator

Location: Oostburg, WI

The Electrical Engineer Project Coordinator brings specialized technical expertise to the design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and installation of designated equipment as required.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive services for the successful installation, startup, and commissioning of packaging equipment, including travel to customer locations when necessary.
  • Serve as the electrical lead for smaller projects and retrofits, coordinating assembly operations during equipment construction.
  • Create detailed electrical component schematic designs, panel layouts, and bills of materials (BOMs) for assigned smaller project, assist project leaders with larger projects
  • Develop and implement control program additions for electrical components to ensure the proper function of PLCs, HMIs, motion control, and message displays.
  • Assist during machine testing and troubleshooting to ensure the certification of packaging equipment for customer acceptance.
  • Learn and master the design and layout of electrical components and systems for packaging equipment.
  • Learn existing control programs for understanding to enable improved service support.
  • Assist with customer service calls and provide creative and accurate design solutions.
  • Track customer support calls with company CRM (Salesforce)
  • Effectively communicate electrical design intent to customers and other departments, ensuring fulfillment of requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve conflicts, address issues, and incorporate suggestions into electrical designs.
  • Obtain quotations from vendors and set up parts in the ERP system.
  • Maintain electrical documentation and produce timely and detailed reports.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in reading electrical schematics and troubleshooting electrical wiring.
  • Solid understanding of packaging machines and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Education equivalent to a four-year degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent training and experience.
  • Ability to use PLC and motion control software, such as Logix 5000, Siemens TIA Step 7.
  • Ability to effectively utilize complex software for design, problem solving, and documentation.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively convey design concepts.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and basic electronic measuring devices.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software, and various Viking Masek systems.
  • Knowledge of networking and communication hardware and protocols.

Preferable Skills:

  • PC programming languages such as C, C++, Python, Java
  • Familiarity with Eplan, AutoCAD
  • Possess a solid understanding of packaging machines and processes.

  • Occasionally work in proximity to moving mechanical parts.
  • Adhere to company and departmental SOPs and protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot problems.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to accuracy, accountability, communication, and closure.
  • May occasionally travel on company business.

Hours: Monday through Friday. 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Based on departmental needs. Travel may be required (can be flexible). Start and end times may vary.
