Employee Development and Safety Coordinator

Job Description:

The Employee Development and Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring all employees complete required organizational and regulatory training while also leading, managing, and continuously improving the company’s safety program. This role ensures compliance with industry regulations, enhances workplace safety culture, and develops training programs that drive employee competency and adherence to best practices.

KRA Job Duties & Responsibilities:

KRA # 1 – Training Program Development & Compliance

  • Design, schedule, and implement training programs covering company policies, job-specific skills, safety, and regulatory compliance.

  • Achieve 100% completion rate for mandatory training within required timelines.

  • Use our Performance Module in ADP to track and manage training compliance.

  • Ensure employees meet legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements.

  • Fully implement an automated training tracking system by the end of Q4.

KRA # 2 – Employee Training Scheduling & Coordination

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive training calendar, ensuring employees are scheduled for required sessions including new hire safety orientation.

  • Maintain training adherence rate of at least 95% across all departments.

  • Coordinate with department heads to align training sessions with operational needs.

  • Ensure workforce readiness and continuous skill development.

  • Implement a quarterly audit process to identify and address scheduling gaps.

KRA # 3 – Safety Program Management & Improvement

  • Own, manage, and enhance the company’s safety program, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory bodies.

  • Maintain an average yearly workplace incident rate of <2%.

  • Conduct regular safety audits, training refreshers, and compliance reviews.

  • Foster a culture of workplace safety and employee well-being.

KRA # 4 – Incident Response & Root Cause Analysis

  • Develop and implement a standardized incident investigation process.

  • Complete 100% of incident investigations within five business days.

  • Train supervisors on root cause analysis and corrective action planning.

  • Ensure incidents lead to proactive prevention measures.

KRA # 5 – Continuous Improvement & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with HR, Operations, and Leadership to improve training and safety initiatives based on feedback and analytics. Drive a safety culture.

  • Conduct/Coordinate at least one safety and training review meeting per month with key stakeholders and/or employees

  • Implement feedback loops and employee engagement strategies

  • Ensure training and safety programs evolve with company needs.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in training & development, Occupational Health & Safety, Human Resources, or a related field.

  • Experience: 3+ years in employee training, safety program management, or regulatory compliance and workers compensation.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in an LMS platform(s), safety compliance software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

  • Certifications: OSHA 30, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or similar credentials.
