Summer Engineering Internship

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

KLA # 1 – Control System Design and Development

  • Determine Design Requirements to Meet Project Needs.
  • Develop PLC and Motion Programs for Machines
  • Develop HMI Programs for Projects

KLA # 2 – System Integration and Implementation

  • Determine how to integrate 3rd party Systems into full line solutions
  • Work with 3rd Vendors to provide solutions
  • Determine Validation Test for 3rd Party Systems
  • Generate Documentation for 3rd Party Systems

KLA # 3 – Technical Troubleshooting

  • Diagnosing and Resolving System Issues
  • Providing Technical Support
  • Promoting Best Practices and Knowledge Sharing

KLA # 4 – Project Management and Coordination

  • Control System Design and Integration Planning
  • Vendor and Supplier Coordination
  • Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration

KLA # 5 – Documentation and Compliance

  • Creation and Maintenance of Detailed Documentation
  • Version Control and Documentation Updates
  • Training Documentation for Internal Teams

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Control Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of control theory, PLCs, HMI, and other automation technologies. Familiarity with concepts like PID control, ladder logic, and sensors is often preferred.
  • Programming Experience with PLCs, Microcontrollers, or PC based languages such as Python, C++, C#, Java.
  • Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to apply engineering principles to solve problems in control systems, hardware, or software
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams. Ability to work effectively in team environments and contribute to ongoing projects.
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits, wiring, and components such as sensors, actuators, and relays, which are integral to control systems.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation, electrical schematics, and control system diagrams. Experience with drafting simple documents or reports can be a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring that designs, programming, and documentation are accurate and meet quality standards.
  • Eagerness to learn about control systems and automation in a real-world setting, with a proactive attitude toward developing new skills and contributing to projects.

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation, data analysis, and presentations.
  • Familiarity with programming languages used in PLCs, such as Ladder Logic, Structured Text, or Function Block Diagram, to develop and troubleshoot control systems.
